STERILIZATION PERMIT NO. PA-(?)

Bedding & Furniture products that contain down/feather/wool fill are required in many states to display a Sterilization Permit Number from the state of Pennsylvania (PA) on the law labels in addition to the state’s Uniform Registry Number (URN).

Only the factory that processes the down/feather fill can apply for the PA Sterilization Permit.
The application for a Sterilization Permit in PA involves a very thorough inspection of the down/feather processing plant.

The PA Sterilization Permit must also be registered in the states of Connecticut (CT) & Massachusetts (MA).

CT, MA & PA will NOT accept a bedding or furniture application to register a URN for products containing down/feather fill IF THE DOWN/FEATHER PROCESSING PLANT DOES NOT HAVE A CURRENT STERILIZATION PERMIT LICENSE. Any bedding/furniture applications and fees returned by CT, MA, & PA in this case will not be refunded.

For assistance with obtaining a PA Sterilization Permit for the down/feather processing plant, please contact the International Down & Feather Laboratory (IDFL) at www.idfl.com. They can assist with worldwide inspections of down/feather processing plants as well as file for a Sterilization Permit in PA and follow up registration in CT & MA.
